Winners from Nantwich Primary Schools Gathered for Rotary Art & Handwriting Competition Award-Giving

On Saturday May 21st Dr Kieran Mullan MP and Rotary Club of Nantwich President, Tony Webb presented prizes at the Nantwich Museum to winners of the 14th Rotary Club of Nantwich, Primary Schools Art and Handwriting Competition. Eleven local primary schools submitted 1200 entries..
The theme for the competition was "My Favourite Time Of Year", which was interpreted in many different and creative ways by the children. The judges were Rotarian Michael Tiddy and calligraphy expert Frances Passmore who had the tough challenge of choosing the winners.
Teachers, friends and family members of the children waited with eager anticipation to hear what they had won. Silver Medals and gift vouchers were presented to 35 pupils representing the best entrants from each school. Gold Medals and £25 gift vouchers were presented to the best overall entries in each category
Ben, Cody, Joey and Lucy were presented Silver Medals and gift vouchers for the best entrants from Bridgemere School and Ben was a Gold Medal winner for his art, Bridgemere becoming the top school overall. An amazing achievement, well done to our amazing pupils and thank you to Mrs Smart for her support.
Rotary Club of Nantwich President Tony Webb said – 'We would like to thank all the children who took part and the teachers at their schools for supporting them. Once again the competition has been a showcase for the strength of both art and handwriting in our local schools'
The children's work will be on display in the Museum until 4th June 2022, please go and visit.
