School Council

Pupil Voice and Leadership

At Bridgemere CE Primary, we believe that children learn best when they feel valued, involved, and heard. When pupils have a say in how their school runs, they become more engaged, confident, and responsible members of our community.

We provide a wide range of opportunities for our children to share their ideas, influence decisions, and help shape school life — through regular discussions with teachers, governors, and our various council groups.

Our Council Groups

Our school councils represent the voices of every pupil at Bridgemere. They play a vital role in helping us understand what works well and how we can continue to grow and improve together.

Children who wish to become representatives prepare and deliver a short presentation or manifesto explaining why they would be a great choice. Their classmates then listen carefully, reflect, and vote for the person they believe will represent them best.

Once elected, representatives from all year groups gather ideas and feedback from their peers and share these during meetings with teachers, the Friends of Bridgemere, and school governors throughout the year.

Through this process, our pupils learn that their voices matter, their opinions can inspire change, and that everyone can play a part in making Bridgemere the best it can be.
