We believe that our children are more engaged with their learning and school experiences if they feel part of it and contribute to decision making. We offer a range of opportunities for children to get involved and have their say, through talking with teachers, governors and council groups.
Our council groups represent the views of every pupil at Bridgemere school and are vital in helping us to understand how to be more effective. Children who wish to nominate themselves prepare and deliver a presentation to support their nomination. Peers then consider the manifestoes and will elect their representative. Representatives from all year groups then gather ideas and views from their classmates and share them at their meetings with teachers, Friends of Bridgemere and Governors at different points throughout the year.
Our School Council representatives for 2020-21:
Class 1: William and Tabitha
Class 2: Henry and Daisy
Class 3: Max and Valentina
Class 4: Xanthe, Niamh, Reegan, Jake and Ellajane
Since January lockdown the School Council have continued to meet virtually every 2 weeks. They have discussed remote learning and fed back very useful information to class teachers on how it can be more effective. The children of Bridgemere wanted more time for games, scavenger hunts and time where they could chat to their class mates.
