Governors

Mrs Elizabeth Ford – Chair of Governors

I am Liz Ford and I joined the Governing Body of Bridgemere in 2017. I am a Diocesan member which means I have been appointed by the Church. I am currently Chair of Governors
I have been involved in governing for over 20 years, initially as a parent governor at Acton C of E School then as a community governor there.
I also twice held the post of Chair of the Governors at that school, becoming a Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors when it joined with Calveley School to form the Real Life Leaning Academy Trust. However my involvement with Bridgemere dates back even further as, along with my two sisters, I was a pupil at Bridgemere! My father was also a governor there so I have a great deal of affinity to this lovely rural school. Along with the other governors and staff I am committed to seeing Bridgemere continue to improve to ensure that all its pupils get the education they deserve.

Mrs Jan Morgan – Foundation Governor

I am Janet Morgan a retired teacher. My own children attended Audlem School and I was a parent governor there for several years. I was asked by Rev Helen Chantry to be a church representative here and have been a member since 2010. I try to spend half a day each week in school assisting in a classroom. This helps me keep aware of new developments in education as it is constantly changing and helps me be aware of how this is absorbed in school. As a diocesan appointee I am especially interested in this as a church school and I attend the Ethos Council meetings where the children are fully involved in arranging worship and ensuring the school's values are fully appreciated.

Mr Stephen Knott – Foundation Governor

Steve has a Masters in Engineering and is a Chartered Civil Engineer and member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He leads a large engineering consultancy account in Staffordshire and as such has many years of experience in business strategy, commercial, legal, finance and people management. He is married and has two children at the school who is progressing well and very much enjoys their time at school.

Mrs Emma Fradley – Foundation Governor

I am very proud to have recently become a Governor and feel a great responsibility to the children, staff and parents and to ensure that the school nurtures, supports and teaches every child to enable them to achieve their full potential, academically, socially and emotionally so our children have the skills and knowledge they need for their future journey onto Secondary School. My son attends Bridgemere and over the last 4 years I have been involved with Bridgemere school from being a parent volunteer by reading with the children, playing maths games and running a shop to help with money skills to accompanying the school on trips out, and being on the Parent Council and a temporary dinner lady. I am involved with Friends of Bridgemere and help organise and run the many of the events that bring the school together and raise much needed additional funds to enrich the children's education. Through my involvement with Bridgemere School I have come to learn that our little rural school really is a very special one. I truly believe that working together as a whole school community is paramount for our school to be the very best it can and for it to be a wonderful and inspiring place of learning that means our children are excited to come to school every day.

Mr Jon Furber – Parent Governor

I am pleased to have the opportunity to support the school as a governor and help to ensure the continued success of the primary school. This is close to my heart as a parent of two children who attend the school.
I am a Chartered Accountant and Finance Director with considerable financial, commercial and operational experience in the private sector. In addition I previously spent 12 years as a governor at Reaseheath College. I believe this combination of skills and experience can help contribute to the governance of the school.

Mrs Jo Edwards – LA Governor
It is my pleasure to be the LA governor here at Bridgemere CE Primary School. I have been a governor for the past 8 years at other local schools and carry a wealth of experience in governance. I work in the private sector in information management within a large team and therefore understand the daily pressures within an origination. I come into school on a regular basis and enjoy seeing the curriculum in action, meeting the staff and children. My own 2 children are in Secondary and University Education.

Mrs Sarah Willington – Staff Governor

I joined the school in December 2008 as the Early Years Teacher in Class One. I have been on the governing body since February 2011. I am the deputy safeguarding lead and link governor Cared for Children. I am also the EYFS coordinator.

Mrs Emma Lewis
My name is Emma Lewis, and I am the parent of Henry in year 4, Wilbur nursery and Xanthe who is a past student, currently in Brine Leas.
I have worked in education for 17 years as a secondary school PE teacher and Special Education Needs Practitioner. Within education I have undertaken the role of mentor and leader, I am currently undertaking a Master's Degree in Dyslexia Assessment and Tutoring.
I am passionate about education improvement and development. I have enjoyed my role of Chair of the Parent Council at Bridgemere C of E Primary School for 5 years and hope to use my experience in education to support the school that step further as a governor.
