All classes at Bridgemere School from Nursery to Year 6 have 2 hours of PE each week. One hour is taught by the class teacher and the other hour is taught by our Specialist P.E teacher Mr Gibbons, every Friday.
This half term the focus is Tag Rugby and Football for Key Stage Two and Throwing and Catching and Movement Skills in Key Stage One.
Each day at 3pm the whole school take part in 30 Active Minutes led by North West Coaching. Throughout the day, the teachers are encouraging the children to be as active as possible, with Active Maths and BBC Super Movers.
We encourage children to take part in the extra-curricular clubs. Currently, these are running Monday -Thursday after school from 3.30pm-4.30pm. This half term the clubs are Football, Five High, Dodgeball and Tag Rugby.
We take part in several inter-school competitions each year, provided by the Crewe and Nantwich School Sport Partnership, ending in the very exciting annual Town Sports, which we won in a clean sweep last year.
This half term we are entering:
Quad Kids Athletics (joint team with Calveley)
Football (league games against Shavington, Millfields and Wybunbury)
We also have our own sports day in the summer term where children from Nursery to Year 6 compete in their house teams.
Please read the information below which gives details of how we spend the PE and sport premium for Primary Schools.
